Care Guide:

Shedding is a natural occurrence. On average, it’s normal for an individual to shed 5–100 strands of hair a day. Just as your natural hair, human hair extensions also experience shedding. There are multiple variables that contribute to shedding, from the length of your extensions to constant brushing and manipulation. Although shedding is inevitable, below are tips to care for your hair and help reduce the occurrence of shedding:

  • Seal Your Wefts: Sealants such as Fray Check can be applied to hair wefts to add reinforcement and reduce shedding.
  • Night time Hair Care: Protect your extensions while sleeping by securing your hair in a silk bonnet or scarf. To reduce friction and minimize the potential of damage caused by tossing and turning while sleeping.
  • Product Usage: Less is more. Frequently adding unnecessary amounts of products and oils will weigh down your hair resulting in excessive tangling and shedding.
  • Washing Methods: Consider using a clarifying shampoo to effectively remove any product buildup. Follow up with a moisturizing shampoo to add back moisture that was stripped by the clarifying shampoo. Lastly, conditioner to further add more moisture.
  • Proper Brushing: The ideal way to brush your hair is by creating sections and starting at the ends of the hair working your way up to the roots.

While we do not recommend using a specific brand when it comes to washing and hydrating your hair. We would like to emphasize the importance of not over overusing products and oils as that causes buildup to form on the hair.

Please understand that these recommendations are optional yet encouraged as they can help preserve the quality and lifespan of your extensions, allowing you to enjoy your investment for a longer period of time.
